Discover More About Our Thriving Operations in Ireland

Pfizer is a well-established name that’s proud to shape Ireland’s thriving pharmaceuticals industry. We are home to around 3,700 people in six sites in Ireland, delivering skills across manufacturing, shared services, R&D, treasury and commercial operations. As performance continues to go from strength to strength, we’ve since invested $8 billion in operations in Ireland since opening the first site in 1969.

Locations

  • With 2,000 experts on site, Grange Castle is Pfizer’s largest single investment in Ireland. A €1.8 billion biotechnology facility located on a 90-acre site in South West Dublin, its first-class buildings and facilities currently extend to more than one million square feet. And, we’ve plans to expand our product portfolio even further so there are multiple opportunities.

Specialising in start-up products at our state-of-the art manufacturing site, it’s a development that offers plenty of opportunity and flexibility to work on a broad range of projects. As one of the largest integrated biotechnology plants in the world, multiple manufacturing technologies include large-scale mammalian cell culture, protein purification, vaccines conjugation, and aseptic syringe filling.

From biological active ingredients, vaccine products to investigational medicines for clinical trials, all manufacturing at Grange Castle is supported by extensive Quality Control laboratory facilities. On the development side, our state-of-the-art pilot-plant, laboratories and equipment for the development of processes for production of many different types of biological drugs, including proteins and vaccines.

  • Growth is something we continuously strive for at Pfizer – and in Ireland, our Newbridge development is leading our plans. Established in Co Kildare in 1992, it’s a site that’s expanding and expected to double in the coming years. At 1,000,000 sq. ft, it’s already one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of solid dose pharmaceuticals and a centre of excellence for established products as well as innovative new therapies. With global demand for our products, we are continuing to invest in this business for the future.

Over €350 million has been invested in Newbridge since 2006 to expand its development and manufacturing capabilities – particularly in new products. The facility currently supplies over 80 product formulations across a wide range of product categories including central nervous system, hormone therapy and oral contraceptive to more than 100 markets worldwide; opening up plenty of opportunities to work in sites across Ireland and around the world.

Good environmental and energy management forms an integral part of how Newbridge operates and is an indistinguishable element of the search for excellence in every area of operations. It’s a commitment to quality and safety that has made this development a major producer of new products – providing an array of opportunities for progression and promotion to those working on site.

  • At Pfizer Ringaskiddy, you’ll find work with real flexibility and variety as you contribute towards exporting bulk pharmaceuticals – the active ingredients in our medication for both humans and animals. This multi-award-winning manufacturing facility is key to the Pfizer business and plays a critical strategic role in new global products and launches.

Pfizer was one of the first US pharmaceutical businesses to locate in Ireland and set up its first production facility in Ringaskiddy in 1969.The site has over 600 colleagues and grown considerably over the years to meet growing production demands and increase production capacity. It also scales up new products in cooperation with Pfizer Global Research & Development to ensure timely approval and launch of these new products. As a result, you can expect to find the most cutting-edge tech, numerous opportunities for progression and the possibility of travelling to sister sites across the world.

In 2007 the Pfizer global Process Development Centre opened a Kilo Technology Laboratory (KTL) on the Ringaskiddy site. The KTL scales up 2nd generation processes coming from the global Process Development Centre laboratories. The KTL specialises in the development and scale-up of novel chemical routes and in the use of new manufacturing technologies.

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your career contributing to Pfizer’s global supply network as we continue to deliver everything from new product introductions to bulk manufacturing of patented and non-patented products.
